If you erased the disk, how did you get 'all my emails back' ?

Hotmail contacts are stored on the Live server....see if they are present by logging on with your Live ID at
    mail.live.com, then selecting Contacts
or to directly to open the Contacts folder use
    contacts.live.com

Fyi...for future use...both the Hotmail interface(click Options/More Options) and WLM provide the ability to export contacts to a
csv file and a savable to your choice of location(folder, jump/external drive etc) for safekeeping.

It has been almost a year since WLMD which was version 8.
    The current version now 12.
In version 12, open the address book, file, import, csv.

If you sign in to WLMail with your Hotmail address, your contacts
should eventually synchronize. If they're not doing, something else
is wrong. If you open the Contacts window while signed in, is there
a message in the window? What does it say in the Title bar?
In that same window, File > Import does allow you to import CSV, but
you shouldn't have to do this.

Glad you found them at last. That's why I asked what it says in the
Title bar of your Contacts window - if you're signed in, it will
give the Live ID you're signed in with, otherwise only 'Windows Live
Contacts'. Read about 'signing in' in Help - you will see that this
has nothing to do with sending and receiving messages.

Can anyone else with the French version <ping Aski> confirm that
there is no CSV import option?
