I am not trying to delete the folder only the items in the folder. Upon opening the folder and seeing "sent items" in it there is not an option to delete them. The "X" symbol (in the toolbar) for deletion is not active and if you right click the folder it does not have an empty option. I am using Windows Home Premium Vista 32 bit and Windows Live Mail Version 2008 (Build 12.0.1606) which I downloaded minutes ago.

Thank you but.............. for some reason I can now delete items from that folder. The "X" is now live and works. I have not done anything that would have changed the functionality of the "X" for delete that I am aware of. I did try your cure and it too, works. Thank you.
