| | ?Attached pictures not scaled to fit viewing area? In Windows Live (not desktop) attached pictures are scaled down to fit the the viewing area width. In Windows Live Desktop I get the entire picture with scroll bars. I cannot find any options, preferences, etc. to get the pictures to fit the viewing window. What am I missing? |

| | Re: ?Attached pictures not scaled to fit viewing area? Your nomenclature is confusing. There is no "Windows Live" program, it is a suite of different programs. There is no program named "Windows Live Desktop". Please provide the actual program names. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "DonC" <coondwc@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:B76D93F1-EACA-4CAF-ACAF-AE6614D1F950@xxxxxx Quote: > In Windows Live (not desktop) attached pictures are scaled down to fit the the viewing area width. | | Re: ?Attached pictures not scaled to fit viewing area? OK -- According to the titles on the two applications, there's Windows Live Mail (Desktop) and Windows Live (Hotmail) . In Hotmail pix are sized to fit the viewing area. In Desktop they're not. Is there a way to get them sized in Desktop? | | Re: ?Attached pictures not scaled to fit viewing area? If "Desktop" is still part of that program name, you are running an obsolete version. Make sure when you go to its Help, About..., the version number is 12.0.1606 (released) or 14.0.5027.0908 (beta). Are you talking about how large a picture appear in a received email? That size is determined by the sender. You can't rescale it unless you first save the pictures and then view them in an app like Photo Gallery. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "DonC" <coondwc@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:e1AO9dPSJHA.4504@xxxxxx Quote: > OK -- According to the titles on the two applications, there's Windows Live Mail (Desktop) and Windows Live (Hotmail) . Just so you are not confused, I'm looking at the same email message with the same attachments in the two environments. If Windows Live Mail is unable to resize the pictures it's a big step backwards --- Windows Live Hotmail has no problem. |

| | Re: ?Attached pictures not scaled to fit viewing area? You are not missing anything. WLM does not scale received pictures. It shows them full size as sent. Open the pictures in another program for scaling. If you see the option to display picture slide show, that will do it. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "DonC" <coondwc@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:B76D93F1-EACA-4CAF-ACAF-AE6614D1F950@xxxxxx Quote: > In Windows Live (not desktop) attached pictures are scaled down to fit > the the viewing area width. Windows Live Mail (at least ver. 12.0.1606) doesn't -- a step backwards IMHO. Thanks |
