Is it possible to return to the old hotmail ?

he old hotmail was simple and effective I find windows live more cumbersome
and prone to malfunctioning eg now if some one emails me anything using power
point it will not open -I have to get around that by sending it to myself to
my BT email address where I am able to open it. Recently friends have told me
they are getting two copies of each email from me -just a couple examples of
what I am talking about

Unfortunately no. The new hotmail Wave 3 interface has been rolled out to
everyone and there is plan to return to the old interface.
As for the problems you're having with duplicate emails, I'm afraid I don't
know what would be causing that.

Re: Is it possible to return to the old hotmail ?

Correction.
"there is **no** plan to return to the old interface"

Since you have not exactly specified if you are sending emails from Hotmail or a Hotmail capable email client(e.g. Windows Live
Mail):
Duplicate emails.
- If you send an email to yourself from the Hotmail web interface do you get 2 copies ?
- If you send an email to yourself from a Hotmail capable email client do you get 2 copies ?
- Which of the above or both types of sending email was used to send emails to 'friends'
- Are your friends receiving these duplicates when using Hotmail, a Pop3 email account, Imap account..

A slightly larger picture with more variables and unknowns without providing additional information.

With respect to Powerpoint..I sent two Powerpoint files(one in 97-2003 format, ppt; the other in 2007 format, pptx) to a Hotmail
account. Both open in the new Hotmail interface.
- you might check your file associations or reset IE to default settings.

Re: Is it possible to return to the old hotmail ?

I don't understand what everyone is complaining about. I've looked at the
new Hotmail and the only thing I see different is it's been prettied up a
little bit. What is it that people are complaining about. No one is ever
specific, they just say "I don't like it." Doesn't tell anyone anything.
