Display of Unread Email Count on Windows XP User Account login screen

I've noticed that Windows Live Mail seems to cause an unread email message
count on the Window's XP user login screen. It strikes me that isn't the
business of anyone not logged on to the user account with unread mail. Is
there anyway to stop the display or is it a feature of WLM that it requires
users to give up some privacy?

Re: Display of Unread Email Count on Windows XP User Account login screen

The display of unread mail on the Welcome Screen is a function of the Windows Operating System, not WLMail.

However, there are no options in the OS to control this.

Nevertheless, one can change the setting by editing the Registry or using the option available in Tweak UI.

This website provides a good explanation of the procedure: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/0...elcome-screen/
