can i network windows live mail (desktop)

I have a home network with a desktop pc, and a wireless laptop. I am using
Windows live mail on the laptop, and Outook on the desktop. I'd like the same
mail program on both, and to share the data file so no matter where I look at
my mail (desktop or laptop), I see the same inbox contents, contacts,
etc......

I already found out that OUtlook does not support this, what about WLM?

No, WLM doesn't support that either.
If your mail provider offers IMAP as well as POP, that would be an ideal
solution. If not, you could have your current mail account forwarded
to a free Gmail IMAP account.

Re: can i network windows live mail (desktop)

If your ISP offers IMAP mail server access, that is the way to go. IMAP
is designed for a single mail account to be shared by multiple PCs. The
IMAP mail is managed at the mail server.

If your ISP doesn't provide IMAP support, an option is to run your own
local mail server that accesses the ISP via POP3 and then provides IMAP
support to your local PCs. For examples of such a programs, see:

Re: can i network windows live mail (desktop)

Neither provide shared files on a home network across two pcs.

If one wishes to use the same program then the only common folder content capable
is when used with a Hotmail account with:
a. WLM on both
b. Outlook 2003/02007 with Outlook Connector on both
c. WLM on one unit and Outlook 2003/2007 with the Outlook Connector(OLC) installed on the other unit

In the above scenario you won't have a shared local data file, but all the mail will remain common on the server and both machines
email client local store((WLM store and/or OLC Hotmail.pst) until deleted in any location and sync'd with the other two.
