| | Re: Windows Live Mail Beta Refresh It's very curious... Someone named _Tanja_ from Microsoft, otherwise completely unidentified, tells us about a new "Beta Refresh" Release of WLM, in a brief email utterly devoid of any technical or scheduling information... She tosses it out to us with a URL... And then disappears back into the shadows once again. Is this anyway for Microsoft, indeed for any reputable corporation, to do business? -- DSH Lux et Veritas et Libertas Vires et Honor |

Is this anyway for Microsoft, indeed for any reputable corporation, to do business? -- DSH Lux et Veritas et Libertas Vires et Honor How do you know "Tanya" has anything to do with Microsoft? What is the URL? I'm probably teaching my grandmother to suck eggs - but if in doubt, NEVER click on a link or visit a suspect site. Incidentally, the best way to download any update (Beta or otherwise) is to type the full address into your browser (having obtained the URL from a reliable source). A search on the Microsoft website points to http://download.live.com/wlmail. That should be the starting point. |

| | Re: Windows Live Mail Beta Refresh This was the first message in this thread. See _Tanja's_ message below. -------------------------------------------------- It's good to see the release of this "Beta refresh", build 14.0.8050.1202, just before Christmas. I had been anticipating that -- as have many others, I'm sure. I'm still having a problem with Contacts... I import 41 contacts in a *.wab file and they import successfully... Then I close WLM... When next I return to WLM and reopen it all contacts have disappeared -- none are retained. You can download the latest versions here. Over the last few months we have been receiving lots of great feedback and working hard to get ready to release the final versions. But, before we do that, we are refreshing the beta versions once more to make sure we've ironed out the final kinks. Please download and install the latest beta, and let us know if you're running into any issues that we need to take care of before we release the final versions. Thanks, and as always.Enjoy! --Tanja -- DSH Lux et Veritas et Libertas Vires et Honor "Bob Lucas" <bob@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:u5MSUvoYJHA.2572@xxxxxx "D. I assumed at the time that it was only addressed to the official beta testers (of which I'm one). -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "D.
