What's the quickest way to publish a screen grab on the web?

I have live photo gallery, live mail and some live web space

And to publish a simple screen grab i have to take screen prt - paste it to
MS word to crop it - paste it in MS Paint to save it as Jpeg (reduce file
size) - then copy the picture into a folder - open photo gallery - find the
picture and publish it in my live web space

i go completely off the whole idea - there must be an easier way

The following feebie will do everything
you mentioned very quickly.

Gadwin PrintScreen
http://www.gadwin.com/download/
(scroll down to: Gadwin PrintScreen 4.3)

I have it set so all I have to do is:

1) Press...Print Screen...
2) Drag a box around the content I wish to save...
3) Press enter...
The screen shot is immediately saved as a .jpg
in a folder of my choice.

Another thought...if you are running
Vista Home Premium, Business, Enterprise
or Ultimate...read the following article:

I bought FastStone Capture [NOT SPAM] but only because I like it and use it
a lot. (Note: You can download previous, free versions of FastStone
Capture.)

IrfanView (www.irfanview.com) has a screen capture option.

Re: What's the quickest way to publish a screen grab on the web?

Why do you need Word?

Hit the Print Screen key (next to F12).
Open Paint (Programs, Accessories, Paint).
Edit, Paste.
Click on Select button (rectangle made of dashed lines).
Click on one corner of the wanted area.
Holding down the left mouse button, move the mouse to put the dashed
rectangle around the data area.
Edit, Cut.
File, New.
Click No to the Save question.
Edit, Paste.
File, Save As.
Put the file name in quotes.

Re: What's the quickest way to publish a screen grab on the web?

Easy... http://www.jingproject.com

It captures, uploads, and hosts the image. And it's made by Techsmith who is
like the "Microsoft" of screen capture software.

Re: (*More*) What's the quickest way to publish a screen grab on the web?

Brilliant - Brilliant

I have got Vista Premium on my PC & i found the wonderful Snipping Tool you
mentioned

It takes screen grab any shape i want (no need to crop whole screen), I can
save it directly as web-friendly jpeg

It even lets me edit it (with coloured pens) which is something i forgot
about but i also wanted

Aint it great when someone invents stuff before you even know you want it
)

Peachy - thanks
