Windows Mail user in Vista has a question

In searching for something about Vista's Windows Mail which I am now using
on 1 of my computers, I read about "Windows Live Mail"

1. Is there any benefit to switching to it (aside from hotmail and photos,
neither of which interest me)?

2. Does it import accounts and, especially, mail rules? I have many rules
which I have
worked very hard to organize.

3. Does it delete Windows Mail or can one switch back to Windows Mail after
the
new download?

4. Does it store messages the same way Windows Mail does?

Just curious if I should experiment or leave well enough alone!

Better (live) spell checking, including auto-correct. Also, WLM seems less
prone to corruption from aggressive antivirus programs (McAfee, Norton).
If you choose to use WLM's Live ID login, your contacts will by synced
with a Hotmail account. This feature saved me one year ago when my
laptop was stolen, and I did not have a backup of my contacts.

Yes.

It leaves Windows Mail intact. I run both programs simultaneously because
I like WLM for email and WM for newsgroups.

It uses the same storage concept, each message is saved in its own .eml
file.

Re: Windows Mail user in Vista has a question

I don't recall importing rules from WM to WLM.
Does it import them from WLM when WLM is installed ?

Re: Windows Mail user in Vista has a question

It's been a long time since I did the initial install of WLM,
which (I seem to recall) imported everything from WM, including
rules. My recollection may be faulty because it has been quite a
while. My more recent WLM installs all imported everything from
the previous WLM version.

Re: Windows Mail user in Vista has a question

Thanks.
I've nothing to remember because I didn't use WLM long enough to create rules(at that time I was using an Outlook plugin for News
on Vista).
