Where have all the toolbar icons gone?

Vista Home Prem with the latest Windows Live Mail sync'ing with mail,
contacts and calendar on the web site. Everything works no prob, except
today all the toolbar icons have gone. Toolbar is still there, words only. I
can customise it etc, but no icons. Looks kinda dull (grin). No idea what
happened. Help - please? Thanks.

The icons were removed in the latest beta (14.0.8050.1202)

Oh - - - OK. I had no idea. Thank you for the quick response. Curious thing
to do - I presume they will come back some time.

Many of us hope so <g>. There is also a weird issue with the latest beta
where unread messages in newsgroups only have bold text in the "from"
column. Read messages turn a light grey so it's not too hard to distinguish
them, but with watched threads (which by default use red text) the only
change is the bold attribute is turned off in the From column. This makes
it pretty hard to see if there are new messages in the thread. This is a
real loss of functionality IMHO.

I second that. My middle aged eyes struggle a bit with the pale grey too.
I'd consider Thunderbird for the ability to customise the message list font
except I LOVE the calendar and contacts syncing with WLM. Apart from the
long delay for contacts birthdays to show up in the calendar I am really
thrilled with it. At least things are moving, and development is actively
going on.

Uh-oh! Just noticed something else. I have several sigs and one specifically
for newsgroups. Not a newsgroup post only has the default sig available,
instead of being able to choose from all the sigs set up. That's only just
happened, so hopefully continued dev will see this err, bug? disappear.

Re: Where have all the toolbar icons gone?

I don't agree that "the fade is ok". On my laptop screen the faded
light gray makes the Subject field of read messages too faint to
read easily.

Re: Where have all the toolbar icons gone?

Unknown at this time.
Msft is aware of users expressing concern about the text only icon.

Re: Where have all the toolbar icons gone?

To remove the grey in news and pop3 accounts...
Create a rule For all messages after message arrives, Highlight with Color(default is black), then apply it to current..future read
messages will be black instead of grey. It does not impact the 'bold only' for unread in the From field.
