| | Wrong Addresses in "To" Column of List Pane I formatted my computer (previously having backed up the Windows Live Mail store folder) and installed the newest version of Windows Live Mail (up from either the 2007 or 2008 version). I then set up the accounts and restored all my messages by copying over the old store folders into the new ones. Everything worked well aside from one thing: in the Sent folder in the "To" column of the list pane, all of the e-mails appear as being to myself. The weird thing is that if you actually open any of the e-mails, they display the correct intended recipient. Anyone else having this problem? Anyone have any solutions? |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Wrong Addresses in "To" Column of List Pane I saw this too. It freaked me out at first. I think it's just a glitch. It seems to default to the primary account on the screen, though the actual send address is the correct one. BUG REPORT! |

| | RE: Wrong Addresses in "To" Column of List Pane I had a similar problem. Let's see if I can articulate it clearly. If I go to any of my IMAP accounts in Windows Live Mail on and click on the Sent Items folder, one of the first columns shown is the "To" column. Perfect. Exactly what one would expect to see. Next, if I click on the Inbox folder of the same account, I again see a "To" column and no "From" column. This is not what is expected. The user should see from whom the new mail was received. If I modify the selection of visible columns by right clicking any one of the column headers and selecting "From" and deselecting "To", it modifies not only my Inbox columns, but also my Sent Items columns. Now the Sent Items view fails to show the person(s) to whom I sent mail. This is definitely a bug. Somehow the Sent Items object inherited the traits of the Inbox object or vice-versa. Microsoft, how do I fix this? Thanks, Zanderius "Moocna" wrote: Quote: > I formatted my computer (previously having backed up the Windows Live Mail > store folder) and installed the newest version of Windows Live Mail (up from > either the 2007 or 2008 version). | | Re: Wrong Addresses in "To" Column of List Pane The problem is not really similar. The op issue appears to be from copying the old store messages into the current rather than importing or dragging messages. Usually dragging a message that appeared sent to one self out to an explorer folder then back in resolves this issue or starting fresh and importing using WLM's import message function. Yours looks like it may be a different issue. Did you copy a prior message store to replace the current store ? Does it only occur with your IMAP account ? -. ie. does it occur with a pop3 or http account in your installed version of WLM What WLM version is in use(we can't tell from the properties by those posting from the web interface)? I'm using WLM 2009(version 14.0.8064.2026). While I don't have an Imap account....for both pop3 and http accounts my columns for the Inbox and Sent folder(From, To) independently retain the configured column header(s) . -- ...winston ms-mvp mail "Zanderius" <Zanderius@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:93D952C1-2229-4902-8787-9ABB0A88AAF9@xxxxxx Quote: > I had a similar problem. | | Re: Wrong Addresses in "To" Column of List Pane Hi Winston, Sorry. You're right. I did not copy a prior message store to replace the current store. I suppose I posted to the wrong thread. I probably should have created a new one. But, to answer your questions, I am using version 14.0.8064.0206. I don't have any POP accounts set up. But, I can confirm that my three http accounts do not have this problem. As you mentioned, they retain their column header settings. I hope MS fixes this in the next revision. It's kind of annoying. Thanks, Zanderius "...winston" wrote: Quote: > The problem is not really similar. > The op issue appears to be from copying the old store messages into the current rather than importing or dragging messages. | | Re: Wrong Addresses in "To" Column of List Pane Zanderius, Thanks you so much for clarifying and adding detail for the differences occurring on the two types of accounts(Imap and Http). I've not any Imap accounts thus hopefully someone else recalls the issue being reported in the past.
