Export Windows Live Calender

Is there a way to export the Windows Live calendar?

I can only find a way to import a calendar, but can't find a way to export
to *.ics or *.vcs.

Re: Export Windows Live Calender

I'm interested to know why you want the ICS file. There maybe an easier way
to accomplish what you're after.

Try this:

1) log into calendar.live.com
2) share -> "calendar you want an ICS file of"
3) "share this calendar"
4) Send friends a view-only link to your calendar
5) Save the full details ICS URL
6) click Save

you should get a URL like this:
webcal://geoffcl.calendar.live.com/calendar/private/fc35e17f-8cf9-484c-b53f-92f2f8482fa3/31189fe4-7009-49c8-9f93-07404842aae6/calendar.ics

http://geoffcl.calendar.live.com/cal...6/calendar.ics
Change the protocol to http and use that in IE. It should give you a dialog
to save the ICS file.

What I was looking for was a way to export the Calendar from Live Hotmail as
a backup, so anyway to export it really. Actually, being more precise, as
there doesn't seem to be a way to sync Live Hotmail directly with a mobile
phone, .vcs export would be ideal so that I can export the calendar and also
upload it to my mobile phone via the phones software.

Re: Export Windows Live Calender

be able I also would like to know how to export the calandar to sync with
either my I-touch or my palm device as I like a mobile version of the
calandar that I can take with me. Since I do not have outlook and Vista
Windows Mail does not work I am looking for an alternative. I can only
effectivly manage one calander and WLC has some good features but porablity
to other devices is not one of them.

Re: Export Windows Live Calender

Export Windows Live Calendar to Windows Calendar Vista « Agendatronix
http://agendaium.com/blog/?p=138

is this what your looking for?

Go to your Windows Live Calendar at www.hotmail.com.
Go to the Calendar you want to share, and click on share.
Send friends a view-only link to your calendar.
Press on ICS.
Click the link. Accept, and import it into your Windows Calendar.
Now the entries are in your Windows Calendar, but they are just read only. Don’t panic.
Export your Windows Calendar to somewhere on your drive. (File-Export)
Then erase that calendar off of your Windows Calendar.
Then (File-Import) the calendar you just exported. Now it is no longer a ics subscribed calendar but a local calendar you can edit!

Thanks, I know about that function but had not considered using it as you
suggested. I use a portable device so that I can add and check calander
details when away from base computer. Therefore I need some way to transfer
and syn this information later with the MLC.

MLC is only good when you have a connection to the internet.

Re: Export Windows Live Calender

Hear, hear! Did without Outlook for what seems eons, and "progressed" from a
multitude of OE versions to Windows Mail (Vista) to WLM. Have found WLM
unacceptable and want out.

Finally broke down and purchased Outlook. Plan come heck or high water to
move everything from disparate computers and software platforms to Outlook
and stick with that until... primarily to "standardize" contacts and
calendars and to use Windows Mobile version-whatever to sync with
smartphone - for which I'm too cheap and refuse to pay extra to surf the
internet.

My $0.02, possibly of no value to anyone else.
