I've added the MSNEWS.MICROSOFT.COM newsgroup in WLM and messages which have
been posted there are downloaded cleanly.

However, even though I've set the newsgroup to synchronize, it will not post
messages TO the newsgroup in WLM.

It WILL post in Outlook Express.



What setting am I missing in WLM?

Have you enabled Tools, Options, General, Use newsgroup communities
support feature in WLM?

That option is buggy and can cause posts from WLM to disappear on the
server.

Also verify that the posts you made in WLM are in the Sent Items folder
under Storage Folders. That's where they should be moved after a
successful posting, assuming that you that option enabled under Tools,
Options, Send.

No. They do not show up there because they are not successfully sent...

But I do have the block checked.

The message is simply not uploaded and stays in my Outbox.

MSNEWS.MICROSOFT.COM is a server, not a newsgroup.
microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop is a newsgroup.
Is the port 119 with nothing else checked?
What email name are you using?
