| | Re: Windows Live Mail & Alternatives I now have WLM V14, Outlook Express 6, Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0.0.19 and Thunderbird 3.0 beta 1 all installed on this machine. I'm experimenting with and testing their capabilities and limitations. It's a worthwhile exercise in comparative strengths and weaknesses. Outlook Express is still clearly the superior product of the lot...and the most stable. But then it is not a crippled beta masquerading as a Final Version. But Thunderbird 3.0 beta 1 shows real promise.... It certainly holds contacts securely, rather than dumping them each time the software is closed -- like Windows Live Mail. Sadly, WLM V14 is the crippled runt of the litter. -- DSH Lux et Veritas et Libertas Deus Vult |

| | Re: Windows Live Mail & Alternatives O.K. I'll try Pegasus Mail. One of the most annoying features of WLM is the "Limbo Feature" that has been previously mentioned. It's appalling that bug wasn't expunged in the "Final Release". And one of the delights of OE6 is its deftness. It opens very fast -- so unlike the funereal WLM. -- DSH Lux et Veritas et Libertas Deus Vult "N. | Vista Home basic 34bit on notebook, XP Home on Desktop | Re: Windows Live Mail & Alternatives Does Pegasus handle the hotmail mail OK, thunderbird did not otherwise I would use it. I have been pulling my hair out with WLM over the past 2 days, but will post that issue seperatly so as to not hijack this discussion. Very frustrating software ! |
