    Will the POP3.live.com servers...

ONLY accept queries from OE, WM, Outlook and WLM?

And NOT from any other email software?

    Thanks.

MS can't do that even if they wanted to.
The POP3 protocol has no means of passing client identification,
so the server has no idea which mail client it is talking to.

    O.K.

    Thanks...

But it DOES want the Identification and Authentication of the person who
    is querying...

And somehow that seems to be going wrong, even though I have an MSN
Account and POP3 access in OE.

Are developers still slip-streaming changes to V14?

If so, I might try another Uninstall/Re-Install of V14...

But it didn't work last time.

I'm cautious about trying a Scorched Earth Uninstall A La "Winston" -- at
    this time.

Most mail servers require only the username and password in
    order to access a mailbox.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with MSN eccentricities.

The WLM team has never slipstreamed any changes that I know of.

Re: Peer Connect Failure ("The Host Has Refused The Connection")

    Thank you kindly.

Thunderbird and Pegasus won't access my MSN mailbox...

    OE, WLM and Outlook will...

Which led me to think MSN had perhaps set up to refuse connections from
    other than Microsoft software.
