| | Unable to delete imported folders in the storage folder All, I recently upgraded to WLM desktop and it looks awesome. During installation, it automatically imported all my stuff from OE6. However, my STORAGE FOLDER now displays the generic "Drafts", "Sent Items", "Deleted Items" folders, which I now want to delete (as they already apprear in my e-mail account folder). However, WLM desktop won't let me delete the folders. I tried deleting the folders in the WLM folder (Explorer), but the program apparently autogenerates the folders in the storage folder when I start up WLM desktop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Don Pedro My stuff: Windows XP (SP3) |

| | Re: Unable to delete imported folders in the storage folder Those are system folders, which is why you can't delete them. Drafts and Sent items are used for newsgroup messages (news accounts don't have their own), and the Deleted items stores items deleted from folders under Storage folders. Don't try doing things with folders in your message store in Explorer - you'll foul up the database, which tries to keep track of which files are in which folder. Do all your file manipulation in WLMail using the tools available. If you can't do what you're trying to do there, it's probably not possible for a good reason. -- Noel "Don Pedro" <Don Pedro@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:03A538B8-3DCC-4FA7-95FA-11F819A87E75@xxxxxx Quote: > All, > > I recently upgraded to WLM desktop and it looks awesome. > > During installation, it automatically imported all my stuff from > OE6. > However, my STORAGE FOLDER now displays the generic "Drafts", > "Sent Items", > "Deleted Items" folders, which I now want to delete (as they > already apprear > in my e-mail account folder). | | Re: Unable to delete imported folders in the storage folder The 'Drafts', 'Sent Items' and 'Deleted items' folders under 'Storage folders' are necessary folders. They are all used for Newsgroups for one... -- Cheers, Peter.R (Windows Vista Home Premium with Windows Live Mail 14.0.8050.1202) "There are more things in Heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." - Shakespeare "Don Pedro" <Don Pedro@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:03A538B8-3DCC-4FA7-95FA-11F819A87E75@xxxxxx Quote: > All, > > I recently upgraded to WLM desktop and it looks awesome. > > During installation, it automatically imported all my stuff from OE6. > However, my STORAGE FOLDER now displays the generic "Drafts", "Sent Items", > "Deleted Items" folders, which I now want to delete (as they already apprear > in my e-mail account folder). | | Re: Unable to delete imported folders in the storage folder Help = leave the first subfolder level in WLM's Storage folders alone(they are part of the program). -- ...winston ms-mvp mail "Don Pedro" <Don Pedro@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:03A538B8-3DCC-4FA7-95FA-11F819A87E75@xxxxxx Quote: > All, > > I recently upgraded to WLM desktop and it looks awesome. > > During installation, it automatically imported all my stuff from OE6. > However, my STORAGE FOLDER now displays the generic "Drafts", "Sent Items", > "Deleted Items" folders, which I now want to delete (as they already apprear > in my e-mail account folder).
