| | Windows Live Mail & Outlook Express Another big plus for OE is how *quickly* it opens when clicked... Outlook EXPRESS... In Truth. No waiting for the spinning doughnut in WLM to finish -- or just a significant delay w/o the spinning doughnut -- if not signing on. How long will XP users be able to continue using OE and be able to connect to HTTP and POP3 accounts? -- DSH Lux et Veritas et Libertas Deus Vult |

| | Re: Windows Live Mail & Outlook Express Thanks... But why 2014 for sure?... And guaranteed connectivity to MSN HTTP and POP3 accounts? We were told earlier the spigot was to be cut off. If that's not so, and we are good to go until 2014, I'll drop WLM in a flash -- and write it off as a bad marriage -- best forgotten. -- DSH Lux et Veritas et Libertas Deus Vult "Peter Foldes" <okf122@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:%23N5DfyceJHA.5344@xxxxxx Quote: > Until the year 2014 at least > > -- > Peter > > Please Reply to Newsgroup for the benefit of others > Requests for assistance by email can not and will not be acknowledged. > > "D. | | Re: Windows Live Mail & Outlook Express People at MSFT are fond of making pronouncements like this, but the customer still has some control. The truth is you never know, and everyone who continues to use WebDAV in OE or Outlook is voting in its favor. The implied threat is that if you cut me off I will begin using Gmail full time, and looking at Gmail's ads whenever I log on to their web site. Then they won't be able to tell their advertisers, "We have X million active subscribers." Judging by the comments in microsoft.public.msn.discussion, people are even continuing to use MSN Explorer to access their MSN mail. I don't think that MSN Email is DeltaSync enabled. Correct me if I am wrong here. I am now using Outlook Connector, more or less exclusively. The latest version seems to have most of the wrinkles out of it. Knock on wood. I assume you are talking about "lifecycle support" for XP, but MSN support continues for as long as you pay your monthly subscription fee. | | Re: Windows Live Mail & Outlook Express Yes, 2014 is the date for XP/IE and included applications. It was not a pronouncement(ie. press release, blog comment etc), iirc it was included in a KB article or something akin to one. -- winston ms-mvp mail "Earle Horton" <earleh@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:O0OEL3deJHA.3792@xxxxxx Quote: > People at MSFT are fond of making pronouncements like this, but the customer > still has some control.
