Open a new email message and View, All Headers from the "View" menu. Then
fill in the BCC line. The setting appears to be "sticky", so once you do
this there will continue to be a BCC line in your message editing window.
Click on the BCC icon to add people from your Contacts.

Open a New Message...go to...View / All Headers.
Enter all the addresses in the BCC field with a comma
after each one.

Suggestions on using a mailing list in Windows Live Mail (WLM):
- In the Contacts select New Group/Category, give it a name (e.g. Bob's
Mailing List BCC), and then use Select Members to add the desired
contacts to the group
- In the Contacts select New Contact, give it a name (e.g. Bob's
Mailing List) and enter your own e-mail address
- When you want to send to the list, in the TO field select the "Bob's
Mailing List" entry and in the BCC field select the "Bob's Mailing List
BCC" group/category. Recipients will see "Bob's Mailing List" in the TO
field (which looks better than "Undisclosed Recipients" which sounds
like spam, and may get filtered out by some ISP anti-spam filters), they
will not see the name or address of any of the people in the list and
you will get a copy of the message.
(With WLM you have to check the option to View, All Headers in a Mail
composition window in order to see the BCC field or click on Show Cc &
Bcc after the Subject.)
Note: Your ISP sets the limit for the number of names per group. If you
exceed their limit, they will refuse to send the message. Check with
them for their limit. Limits are typically in the 10 to 100 range, with
50 being fairly common.

Michael, will your method ( Bob's mailing list ) in TO column, ( Bob mailing
list BCC ) in BCC column, produce duplicate copies to each recipient ?

"Note: Your ISP sets the limit for the number of names per group."
The ISP sets a limit on the number of addresses per email. I assume that
the number of addresses would be the total of the To, CC, and BCC fields.
If the limit is 50 and your group has 50, then your email would be going to
51 addresses, putting it over the limit.

Wisdom and experience come with age, they say, but I wish I could
remember the darn question
Note that Only "Bob mailing list BCC" contains the actual list of
recipients.
"Bob's mailing list" is a dummy contact containing just your own e-mail
address. It's purpose is to have something meaningful in the TO header
to make it less likely that the message will get filtered out as spam.
But besides that, my experience has been that if the same e-mail address
is listed more than once among the TO, CC and BCC headers of a message,
only one copy makes it to the recipient. I don't know if that is a
function of the sending program or possibly the mail server.

My experience on this matter was exactly the opposite. My alumni has an
alumni contact group with all classmates' addresses. If I say, put recipient
A on the To column and contact group name on the BCC, that recipient A will
receive 2 identical copies.
I used WM, and now WLM 14v.
