| | Re: WLM Blocked Sender/domain Lists Using Blocked Senders to stop spam is futile, since spammers seldom reuse the same 'From' address. You can see the list here: Tools, Safety Options, Blocked Senders. Kindly post only plain text to newsgroups, not HTML. Tools, Options, Send, News Sending Format, select Plain Text. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Old Codger (NM)" <old.codger@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:7A9A94C9-6C93-4B30-B963-D076C5BDD8C7@xxxxxx Numerous emails from spammers, etc. have been add to my the blocked senders and blocked domain lists but they keep coming. | | Re: WLM Blocked Sender/domain Lists Caution on indiscriminate use when adding spam messages to the Block Senders list. Many forms of spam, may have spoofed the sending address as your own address. Adding without reviewing the message headers may inevitably add your own address to the block senders list. How does your email address get spoofed as the sending address? A few of methods are: - email address used in a public newsgroup or web based forum revealing the address - email address harvested from one's pc due to a security breach(e.g. malware infection) - email address harvested from another's pc due to security breach/malware infection Separately, if you noticed..some requests to post only in Html have been requested. -Personally, I don't mind others using html posting(I post by default in plain text), though a strong case can be made for doing so, since html messages(not necessarily yours) can be the source of transmitting malware by including code and/or attached files. - From the readers perspective, many(not I)view messages in plain text only mode. When viewing in plain text, an html message may show up in more than one part....the message and a small file. To illustrate, I normally post in plain text, but I've changed this message to post in html for your benefit so you can see the included picture(your html post) in the body of the message in your version WLM(fyi..you are using an earlier version) and how everyone else sees an html message when viewing in plain text. -- ...winston ms-mvp mail "Old Codger (NM)" <old.codger@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:7A9A94C9-6C93-4B30-B963-D076C5BDD8C7@xxxxxx Quote: > Numerous emails from spammers, etc. have been add to my the blocked senders and blocked domain lists but they keep coming. > > Also, how can I view the blocked lists? > > Old Codger > |
