Vista - Am ready to jump ship, please help

I am having so much trouble receiving and sending email in Windows Live. I
use comcast as my ISP. I have a comcast email acct but want to use just my
hotmail email acct. None of my contacts are getting my email and vice versa.
I checked on the blocked list and they were all listed so I selected to
unblock them but they are still there in the blocked list. I called Comcast
and they said that hotmail doesn't work right in windowslive and basically
offered no help. I was able to use hotmail before using this windowslive
messenger. does anyone have any solution for me beyond just using comcast
email? Any help is much appreciated. thank you

Hello Candy,

To use a hotmail account one normally* needs Windows Live Mail or Office 2003/2007 with the Outlook Connector plugin.
- which of these email clients do you use ?


*There are a few exceptions
Free Hotmail accounts
- in use prior to Sept 2004 in Outlook Express or Outlook using the WebDAV protocol **and** the hotmail account accessed at
least once per month and never expired.
- located in Canada and the U.K. which have pop3/smtp capability

Fee based Hotmail accounts
- Hotmail Plus accounts(fee) using the pop3/smtp server in any email client
- Msn Premium accounts and subaccounts using Msn Explorer, OE or Outlook


In addition to providing you're email client, also specify
a. Type of Hotmail account(fee or free)
b. Country U.S. or Canada or Europe(the U.S. currently does not have pop capability for free hotmail accounts)
c. Anytype of exception if applicable
d. Any error message encountered when sending or receiving mail
