database thinks they are. Try compacting the database - this should
reunite the records in the database with the messages actually
present. At Options > Advanced > Maintenance, select 'Compact the
database on shutdown every n runs' and change n to 1. OK out of
that, then File > Work offline and File > Exit. Answer Yes to the
dialogue about recovering unused disk space and wait for the
compaction to finish. Restart WLMail and hunt for those messages
again.
