| Vista Home Premium 32bit | "Error opening page". Unable to open messages after a restoring imported folder. After a PC crash and system reinstallation, I have restored messages from Live Mail using the "Import" facility. I had previously backed up all messages by way of "Export". Virtually all of my messages have restored perfectly apart from one folder in the Storage Folders section. Although title details of all messages in this folder arrive on screen when the folder is opened, I cannot open any individual message and get the message: "There was an error opening this page" - "An error has occurred". No code is given. The messsages are clearly there, but I cannot open them. Any ideas on how I can open these messages please? |

| | Re: "Error opening page". Unable to open messages after a restoring imported folder. Did you move the folders out of the 'Imported Folder' folder? Did you start moving messages out of the 'Imported Folder' folder before WLMail had finished indexing them there? In any case, it appears that the database has failed to index the messages correctly. I suggest that you delete the folder and re-import it. -- Cheers, Peter.R (Windows Vista Home Premium with Windows Live Mail 14.0.8050.1202) "There are more things in Heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." - Shakespeare "gas1126" <guest@xxxxxx-email.com> wrote in message news:60e831ae91c04f5513263096c1fab4ff@xxxxxx-gateway.com... Try compacting the database - this should reunite the records in the database with the messages actually present. At Options > Advanced > Maintenance, select 'Compact the database on shutdown every n runs' and change n to 1. OK out of that, then File > Work offline and File > Exit. Answer Yes to the dialogue about recovering unused disk space and wait for the compaction to finish. Restart WLMail and hunt for those messages again. -- Noel |
