    Backup contacts

Can someone tells me when Windows live mail make a backup list of contacts in :
    User/Appdata/Local/Microsoft/Windows Live Mail/Contacts/Default.
The contact list in the default directory was old and not up to date, so I
delete all the contents in the default directory. My idea was that after a
close and restart of WLM this directory will reflect the new contacts list I
bult, but no. Nothing happens. My question is, WHY?

    Re: Backup contacts

    More info...
Using a Live ID to sign on ?
    Windows Live Mail version ?
    - the contacts for the path name you posted is v12, fyi that version was obsolete with the latest release version 14.

Default contacts are not mirrored on the Msft/Live server, I.e, no backup for v12 or v14.

Thougn, version 14 contacts are stored in a path:
    User/Appdata/Local/Microsoft/Windows Live Mail/Contacts/{82abe1b6-cfda-4a35-b610-f8ba5205fa03}\DBStore
    - which contains a contacts.edb file and a subfolder called Backup with an earlier contacts.edb file.

No new data gets written to the Default contacts.edb file unless data is newly entered, modified, or deleted.

The Default contacts are only accessible without a Live ID signon.
