i have a college Email account on Microsoft outlook, i can access this from home with a internet browser but i am wondering, is it possible to add a outlook account to Windows live mail?
i think the college uses Microsoft outlook 2003 if that helps.

shame... would be useful to have all my Emails in one place.
Does your college provide settings for pop3 or imap to access the account in Outlook or other email clients ?
If so, then yes you can set up the email account in WLM.

Don't be so hasty

sorry, i do not really know much about Email.. how would i find out if my college Email supports pop3 or imap? would i need to ask them, or is there a simpler way?
the only way i can access my account from home at the moment is with Outlook web access.
i thought that it would just naturally work since both Windows live mail and Microsoft outlook are made by the same company.
Outlook is not an account, it's another Mail Client.
You should be able to access all of your email accounts in OL or WLMail.
[Sure hope you're not a Computer Science major]

Ask the school. Most schools have an on campus computer support or a web site with information.
It would be incorrect to assume that Windows Live Mail is compatible with all products made by Microsoft.
Fyi...my alumni *.edu account is accessible by imap and pop3(by a variety of email clients supporting those protocols),
telenet(until phased out), **and** Outlook Web access. I.e. Ask the school or visit their web site.

Let us know which college it is, and we may be able to find out
which email services it supports.
