    Ah.
I am not aware of any site that provides a comparison and/or inclusion of pros and cons.
The two most significant differences in WLM12 vs WLM14
    - the latter uses one common database(no longer individual files and redundant storage) for synchronizing Contacts among WLMsgr and
    the web server(contacts.live.com)
    - the latter has Calendar capability(likewise it uses a database format)

How to switch is pretty easy. Download and install WLM. It will import
your WM data and make itself the default mail program. WM will still be
installed with all its data and still usable.

The main advantages of the Vista Windows Mail
    - Shares the Vista Contacts with other Vista application
    - Better support for HTML and Stationery if you like tweak things.

    The main advantages of WLM
    - Support for Hotmail HTTP accounts (WM does not support HTTP but will
support Hotmail POP3 access when available in your country).
    - Shared contacts with Hotmail
    - Shared Calendar with Live.com
    - Photo-mail
    - Runs on XP, Vista and Windows 7
    - This is Microsoft's preferred Free mail client and the only one under
active development. WM is no longer under development other than
security updates (as long as Vista is supported) and possible minor
    updates.

Fyi..since some might have WM in use for news/mail, but also have Outlook installed as the default email client.

If Outlook is installed and is the default email client...WLM will not become the default client. It will prompt on use and ask to
    be the default program.
