| | Error sending e-mail from my premium Yahoo account with Live mail I have three e-mail accounts that I recieve and send e-mails through Live Mail. Everything was working great until a couple of weeks ago and now I'm having a problem with sending e-mails from my Yahoo account (it is a premium account). I receive the following message: The connection to the server has failed. Server: 'smtp.mail.yahoo.com' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E Protocal: SMTP Port: 25 Secure(SSL): No Socket Error: 10060 Please advise as quickly as possible. Thanks, B |

| | Re: Error sending e-mail from my premium Yahoo account with Live mail That error is symptomatic of an isp blocking another email service's use of port 25. Try changing your smtp settings for the Yahoo account to use your isp's outgoing server settings(port, username, password, authentication, SSL etc). -- ...winston ms-mvp mail "Becca" <Becca@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:FABE9382-E6B5-4496-8CD4-8317D111024C@xxxxxx Quote: > I have three e-mail accounts that I recieve and send e-mails through Live > Mail. | | Re: Error sending e-mail from my premium Yahoo account with Live mail You are using the wrong settings for Yahoo. You should be using Port 465 with SSL and My outgoing servers requires authentication. That is a growing action taken by ISPs to contain spam being sent from compromised customer computers directly to gateway mail servers. Change to port 465, and use SSL. You also have to configure WLM for, "My server requires authentication". -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |

| | Re: Error sending e-mail from my premium Yahoo account with Live mail Yes...the earlier and original settings using port 110/25 still work for Yahoo Plus accounts where port 25 is not being blocked. I've a Yahoo Plus on this drive running in OL03 that was setup a very long time ago, and it still functions. Though the preferred is to reconfigure the entire account to current Yahoo recommendation: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mai...op/pop-08.html -- ...winston ms-mvp mail "N.
