Vista - Cannot connect from Windows Live Mail to a Hotmail account

When trying to "Check for new messages" from a Hotmail account, Windows Live
Mail usually gets stuck with Status "Executing". Only once in the last week
did it succeed in connecting. Previously it worked fine, and I can still
access the account at hotmail.com using a web browser.

I have seen other messages in this group saying that "send/receive" has been
replaced by "sync". I am still using "Version 2008 (Build 12.0.1606)" and I
wondered if I need a newer version. If so, how do I upgrade?

It doesn't matter if you get the newest version or not apparently. I
downloaded the latest version yesterday and it still hangs on hotmail
accounts. My regular ISP mail service and Gmail work just fine.

I've had it hang when I hit sync all e-mail [I have 2 hotmail and one MSN
account, which are only set to check every hour]. If I don't hit the sync
button and just wait an hour, it sync's fine. Guess I'll just set it to
check more often.
