| | Running in background Version 2009 (14.0.8064.0206) WLM continues to run even after the program is closed. I had to "End Process" in Task Manager in order to open WLM again. This happens particularly after receiving messages. What went wrong? Please help. Thanks. |

| | Re: Running in background WLM sill not shut down entirely if a. It's currently in the process of downloading messages or b. it's currently processing new messages through any rules that you have setup. Once it has downloaded messages and processed the rules then it should shut down without any problems. It's really hard to say x went wrong or y went wrong without a lot more information (event logs, system specs etc.). | | Re: Running in background Hi Colin, WLM version: Version 2009 (14.0.8064.0206) Platform: Vista Ultimate x86 SP1 I had no problems with older version of WLM (2008). I did a test. After receiving a new message: http://onnuke.evonet.ro/images/094037_4423_1.gif After reading it: http://onnuke.evonet.ro/images/094222_3837_2.gif As you can see WLM is not downloading or processing anything. I close WLM and what do you know, it's still running: http://onnuke.evonet.ro/images/094351_8635_3.gif After 20 minutes, no matter how many times I click to open WLM, it just won't launch: http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/8ab8dea4a8.gif If I don't receive new messages, WLM will close entirely without any problem. Weird??? On average, I read messages 5-6 times a day. It's really annoying to "End Process" each time I want to re-launch WLM. Please help. Thanks. It's so annoying that I am considering not > using live mail any more Please tell us what happens if you set Work Offline before closing WLMail. FWIW every time I have remembered to do that WLMail has crashed. ; ) Otherwise my workaround is to set the compaction interval to 1 and wait for the prompt. If I have been doing anything clicking Yes results in a message about a file being in use while clicking No consistently allows WLMail to close. Either way it does not hang for me and closes relatively quickly. HTH Robert Aldwinckle --- Quote: > > > "Min" wrote: > Quote: >> Anyone?
