| | blocked & safe senders list round 2 I thought that when I logged in to Windows Live Mail and you blocked some senders and added some to your safe senders list that if you had to restore your OS that they would be saved on WLM server. Well I restored my system and they weren't there. Maybe I misunderstood what you meant. Help!!!! Walt |

| | Re: blocked & safe senders list round 2 Hi, Walter. First, to whom are you referring when you say "you blocked..." and "what you meant"? This is a Usenet newsgroup populated by other users just like yourself. MSFT employees read and post here only occasionally. This is not Microsoft Tech Support. Second, I don't know everything that System Restore actually restores, but Windows Live Mail is not included. WLM is an application, not a part of the operating system. And, third, there is no "WLM server". WLM includes an email client and a news client that can access any NNTP (Network News Transfer Protocol) server - including news.motzarella.org, which you used, and msnews.microsoft.com, which hosts these Microsoft public newsgroups. MY Safe Senders list is stored in my own computer, not on the server. MY list might look much different from YOUR list. If I've misunderstood your question, please post back. RC -- R. C. | | Re: blocked & safe senders list round 2 First of all how do you sync an account? Also when I went to options/more options/junk mail etc all it allowed me to do was add email addresses. Kind of confusing. -- Walt "...winston" <winstonmvp@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:OF5efnUkJHA.5724@xxxxxx Quote: > Were you using a Live ID to signon at WLM program open. > - if not nothing syncs with the server > > If a Live ID was in use, did you sync the account with the server ? > > A logon at mail.live.com can verify the synchronization by accessing > Options/More Options/Junk Email/Safe and Blocked Senders > > -- > ...winston > ms-mvp mail > > "Walter Goldschmidt" <wgold@xxxxxx> wrote in message > news:gnf18l$8it$1@xxxxxx Quote: >> I thought that when I logged in to Windows Live Mail and you blocked some >> senders and added some to your safe senders list that if you had to >> restore your OS that they would be saved on WLM server. | | Re: blocked & safe senders list round 2 I forgot to ask what you meant when you asked if I was using a live ID to sign on at WLM program open. After opening WLM I clicked the sign on button in top right of screen and entered my mail user name and password. When I went to mail.live.com I had to create a new password etc but when I got there I didn't see how to tell if my accounts were synced or not. | | Re: blocked & safe senders list round 2 Mail and News Sync button on the Toolbar or on the menu(Tools) has three options depending upon which view is in use (News or Mail) News mode - sync newsgroup, sync all newsgroups(F5), sync everything(Ctrl F5) Mail mode - sync email account, sync all email accounts(F5), sync everything(Ctrl F5) WLM has a common Outbox for all news and mail messages. In News mode Ctrl-F5 is required to send any unsent emails present in the Outbox In Mail mode, F5 and Ctrl-F5 sends all contents of the Outbox Also, in Feeds mode, Control F5, first syncs all feeds, then sync all mail and news, and sends messages in the Outbox. -- ...winston ms-mvp mail "Walter Goldschmidt" <wgold@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:gnff4r$r1l$1@xxxxxx Quote: > First of all how do you sync an account?
