| | Can't see Newsgroup messages in WLM I have recently configured Newsgroups in WLM. I have posted a response through WLM. I can see this post if I surf directly to the Microsoft Communities page but despite synchronising newsgroups in WLM this message is not shown in the WLM window. Can anyone assist please as to what I might be doing wrong, or if there is some setting I should be adjusting ? With thanks. |

| | Re: Can't see Newsgroup messages in WLM You shouldn't have to adjust anything, but I bet that if you disable 'Use newsgroup Communities support features' at [Tools >] Options > General, this problem will go away. -- Noel "GoldHawk" <mike_klaiber@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:469F6676-0D63-4CF9-8019-85A919F52C9E@xxxxxx Quote: > I have recently configured Newsgroups in WLM. | | Re: Can't see Newsgroup messages in WLM Surprisingly, Microsoft has been trying to fix that bug for many months already, but they don't seem to be making any headway. ;-) -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "GoldHawk" <mike_klaiber@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:%23r2rPTsmJHA.504@xxxxxx Quote: > That's brilliant Noel. | | Re: Can't see Newsgroup messages in WLM Ildhund Sorry, my last post was to the thread ! Here's what I said: "Well, I thought it worked............... However, my last post doesn't show up in WLM but is there on the server. Neither do I see the later post from Gary VanderMolen As things are it's not possible to "trust" newsgroups in WLM as you don't know if there are posts, or not. Any other thoughts gratefully received" The point remains, some posts either sent by me, or in response to my question aren't showing up in WLM. | | Re: Can't see Newsgroup messages in WLM You can try increasing your time out settings in your account setting for newsgroups, could help. If it shows up on the web interface and not your client most likely it will at some point in time. However you mention no error messages. Check your inbox. Check your sent folder, but I don't think it will be in your inbox if you see it on the web interface. If you have had your editor for replying to messages open for a long time while composing and doing other task perhaps your missing the server time out message. NOTE: the server time out message is not an error message. Editing new messages or editing replies is not activity on the server side. If the reply is in your sent mail or even in the outbox but shows up when you access trough using your browser, give it a good while to show up in your client. If it does not show up after you wait a reasonable amount of time, close and restart your client, receive new message and if it still does not show up resend it. Note: If when composing messages for an extended amount of time save the massages to your draft folder close your email newsgroup client reopen your client and then send your messages. | | Re: Can't see Newsgroup messages in WLM I usually leave it quite a long time (hours) after sending a post from WLM before realising it isn't showing up in WLM Newsgroups. I've made the time out setting change you suggest and also that from Gary VanderMolen in my other thread, and it does now SEEM to work. I'll have to see how it goes. Thanks for your reply.
