| | Re: I cannot read my mail? You both need to elaborate... 1) What is your Operating System? 2) What version of WLMail are you using? 3) What happens when you open a message? Do you get an error message? 4) Is this problem with *all* messages, or just some? 5) What antivirus program are you using, and is it set to scan incoming/outgoing e-mails? -- Cheers, Peter.R (Windows Vista Home Premium with Windows Live Mail 2009 14.0.8064.0206) "There are more things in Heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." - Shakespeare "laurajo" <laurajo@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:09CCC610-3737-4B13-98E6-104D22772C79@xxxxxx Quote: > hello, i am having the exact some problem...surely someone knows? iv rang > microsoft and they dont know. > > "BermyGee" wrote: > Quote: >> hello, does anyone know why i can not read any messages from my live mail, I >> can read the subjects but not the mail.. |

| | Re: I cannot read my mail? Sorry for the delay in replying. We can't be sure what the problem is, but I suspect it may be a corrupt database. You could navigate to your WLMail Message Store* and open an e-mail message (.eml file) that you find within a sub-folder there. If an e-mail message opens that you could not open from within WLMail, that eliminates corruption of the e-mail message, and confirms that WLMail has not lost the ability to open messages. It also suggests that the database may be corrupt. In any case, I suggest that you first try a Repair Install of Windows Live Essentials through Control Panel->Programs and Features->Windows Live Essentials-> If that does not fix the problem, then try a Standard Uninstall/Reinstall of WLMail through Control Panel->Programs and Features->Windows Live Essentials-> Your accounts, messages and settings will be unaffected by the above two procedures. The next step would be to try a Complete Uninstall/Reinstall of WLMail as described at http://liveunplugged.spaces.live.com...90CA!226.entry *The blog at the above link will explain how to find your WLMail Message Store. -- Cheers, Peter.R (Windows Vista Home Premium with Windows Live Mail 2009 14.0.8064.0206) "There are more things in Heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." - Shakespeare "laurajo" <laurajo@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:1E6050E3-B08B-4910-95E9-F4848D8364CF@xxxxxx Quote: > 1. iv got VISTA home basic > 2. not sure what version it is, only downloaded it today...2.3.09 > 3. i dont get an error message just the header and blank email. it has my > pointerarrow with the 'waiting' circle, doesnt eventuate into anything. > 4. is with all messages > 5. iv got McAfee Anti Virus, yes is set to scan incoming/outgoing emails > thanks > > "Peter.R" wrote: > Quote: >> You both need to elaborate... >> >> 1) What is your Operating System? >> >> 2) What version of WLMail are you using? >> >> 3) What happens when you open a message?
