    Email address recognition

I eventually got my windows live mail up and working well. Jut one problem
remaining though. When creating a new message, it does not seem to recognise
the email address as one previously used. Basically this means that you have
to type in the full address every time or add to contacts immediately. Can
anybody advise what is happening? Cheers

Windows Mail used a recent list. Windows Live Mail uses the address book.

Can this be altered to a recent list?

No. However, you can configure WLM to automatically add a frequent
    recipient to your contacts:
Tools, Options, Send, "Automatically put people..."

No unfortunately it can't. Though you can start typing in either the
name or email address of the person you want to send an email to and it
will start showing the best matches based on what you've typed so far...
then just pick the right one.

Check your assumptions. E.g. you would see that
symptom if you had more than one contact with
those first letters. So, start typing those first letters
and then press Ctrl-k to get a list that match what
you have entered so far. BTW OE uses the same
    procedure.

Are you sure that Ctrl-k works in WLM?
The list appears when you start typing. Ctrl-k puts what you have typed
with a semi-colon in the To field and brings up no addresses match or some
    other strange action.

    Yes. I tested before I posted. ; )

    > The list appears when you start typing.

I get an AutoComplete effect but the suggestion
was not underlined and can be deleted if desired.

I see either the suggestion being underlined,
in which case it was unique

or the suggestion being left not underlined
and a dialog window opened with more choices
because what I started typing matched a duplicate.

If I delete the completion and just leave the prefix I typed
I do get more matches than I would have expected,
    I would agree.
