Contact IM Read-Only???

Using Windows Live desktop, I'm able to edit pretty much all details about
each contact... Except the Windows Live IM. If I edit a contact, then select
IM from the menu, the Windows Live Messenger Address is greyed out for all
contacts. I can add a new contact and create a new one, but editing is out.

Am I doing something wrong? How do I change a user's IM if they switch from
a@xxxxxx to b@xxxxxx?
