| | Unable to delete msg from Inbox Here's a curiosity. I have a few old messages in my Inbox that cannot be deleted -- when I try to delete them, I get a popup box titled 'Windows Live Mail' with the msg "An unknown error has occurred". About 10 seconds later, another box opens with "Deleting messages..." but nothing happens. When I press it's Cancel, the message changes to 'Canceling...' and stays that way until I press OK on the other 'unknown error' window. This affects about 20 msgs out of about 1000 in my Inbox. None of the undeletable messages are in my ..../Windows Live Mail/(user)/Inbox folder (ie., no .eml file for them). However, those files can be dragged to the Delete folder, and then they can be deleted there by pressing the folder X. Does WLM maintain a database of eml files? If so, is there a way to get WLM to rebuild the database? |

| | Re: Unable to delete msg from Inbox Are these files present in a Live ID ? If so, are they viewable/delete-able in the web interface(mail.live.com) Have you tried looking in you message store folder's account subfolders for those eml files ? - tools/options/advanced/maintenance/store folder will show the location of your WLM store folder Have you considered renaming the WLM Message store file[Mail.MSMessageStore] and let it rebuild the index ? Please post your o/s and version number in future responses. -- ...winston ms-mvp mail "Baffin" <Baffin@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:700F19AC-E7DE-494A-9340-E3A53033D845@xxxxxx Quote: > Here's a curiosity. > > I have a few old messages in my Inbox that cannot be > deleted -- when I try to delete them, I get a popup box > titled 'Windows Live Mail' with the msg "An unknown error > has occurred".
