    Importing Identities from Outlook Express

Windows live doesn't offer the option of switching identities from within,
but rather "importing identies". I have my main OE identity and one labeled
"Gmail". I tried importing the Gmail account to see what would happen, and I
got the message " the identity you selected couldn't be successfully
    imported".

Can you tell me what I'm doing incorrectly. Also, if you can't switch
identities, does the import procedure just "absorb" the messages and
contacts from the "imported" identity? Or do you have the opportunity of
opening it up separately (much preferred). Thanks in advance.

Forgot to add that I can't put a check mark in other than the default
    identity that Live Mail selects.

Open OE and change the default Identity to another Identity, then do an
    Import in WLM.
