A quick test adding
a. a birthday to one of my contacts
b. a separate contact of mine adding a birthday to her profile's contact info(that is shared with my Live ID via her network)
In both cases, the birth date is not present on my Birthday calendar after a few hours. In the latter (b), that contact in my
Windows Live Mail, Windows Live Messenger, and online contact(contacts.live.com) has yet to be updated.
Fyi...my log file does show errors even after deleting the Live ID's calendar folder

Sent too quick.
I should mention that prior to generating that log file, the Windows Live Mail/Calendars folder was deleted.
Upon restart or Windows Live Mail with a Live ID signing on to WLM, the folder was rebuilt with all data and consistent with the
web interface. It ***did not*** include the earlier mentioned entries (a) or (b). The lack of (a) is understandable since iirc a
birth date must be shared by another contact. In the case of the latter (b), the system has not had sufficient time to update or is
having problems.

Could you help me, someone? I'd really like to have the birthdays shown.

Sometimes it takes a while...
MS had problems with their servers, got them fixed, but perhaps there are
more problems now.
I added a birthday on 26 Mar, and it hasn't shown up yet.

Birthday calendars are managed by the calendar.live.com server, there is
nothing you can do to fix this.
Due to capacity issues birthday calendar updates have been turned off until
we can deploy patches to make the birthday calendars scale. ETA for the
patches is 2 weeks.
The current design is that all calendar users have their birthday calendars
updated once a day. The new design will be to update your birthday calendar
when you go to calendar, which should help the birthday calendar be better
than before.
Sorry you have been affected by this.

Geoff...
Thanks for the information on the update being 'turned off' and the current design limit of once per day.
Appreciate that much.

Ditto on that. It's nice to know I wasn't going crazy! I really like the
calendar and birthday feature.
