What kind of mail account (POP3, IMAP or HTTP)? If unsure look at
Tools, Accounts, Mail, Properties, Servers.
Are you connected to the Internet when you try to read an e-mail?

by double clicking. I still get error occurred message, but no specifics.
The headers are downloading, so the password is correct.
Are you by any chance using Outlook to view your mails from WLM

I thought they were stand alone programs, fully independent of one another.
The reason that I asked is that in Outlook you can set it to download only the
headers and not the body of the email. I have no idea if WLM has an option like this
