Uninstall problems with Windows Mail?

Afaik one cannot "uninstall" Windows Mail. It is like "uninstalling"
Outlook Express in XP, where it is a part of the operating system. You can
uninstall it from Control Panel, but that just makes it unavailable.

If you are using Outlook 2003 I would recommend against installing Windows
    Live Mail.

    Uninstall problems with Windows Mail?

My Vista Home Premium still has Windows Mail; however, I wish to install the
newer Windows Live Mail application. Question: is uninstalling Windows Mail
problematic? Will the uninstallation affect my Office suite, my Outlook
2003, or anything else? Note: I ask because I've read that it "may" be a
    problem. Thanks.

Windows Mail cannot be uninstalled from Vista. It is part of the
    operating system.

But there is no need to even try. It will not cause any problem for
Windows Live Mail. It is possible to use both programs. Some people
like to use one for mail and the other for newsgroups.

Installation of WLM will not impact OL03. OL03 and OL07 are quite hardy in that regard.

If WLM is made the default email client instead of OL03, you should expect Outlook 03, upon receiving updates via Microsoft
Update(MU) to flip that switch making OL03 default again.

The primary issue with WLM and OL occurs with messages in Outlook. The current version of WLM can not import OL03 messages directly
into WLM. OL03 messages must first be imported into another email client(OE, or in your case Windows Mail) then imported into
    Windows Mail.
