| | Disappearing Contacts (???) OK... I decided to stay w/ Live Mail as opposed to OE (what w/ all the transparent, Vista style windows & separate account folders & what not). so...how do I solve the problem of disappearing Contacts. every few days or so...I open Live Mail...& all the contacts are gone. I then have to import my original .csv file left over from when I used to use OE. any way to solve this? [anybody even ever heard of this?] thanks very much, mark4man |

So far as I am aware, no explanation has been found. The first question I would ask is - are you signed in to Windows Live when you import your CSV file? You should see the Live ID at the top of the Contacts window if you are. If so, go to http://people.live.com and sign in with the same Live ID, select Options > More options > Export contacts and save a new CSV file. Then, back in WLMail, Stop signing in at [Tools >] Options Quote: > Connection, open the Contacts window and File > Import from this locally and available only when you're not signed in. See if they stick. If you're not signed in when you import your OE-produced CSV file, try signing in and importing them again. Then use the Export function at people.live.com to generate a new CSV file, and use that to populate your WLMail contacts. The object of this exercise is to try and weed out any oddity in the OE-produced file by running it through the online mill. I hope you'll post back with the results. -- Noel |

| | Re: Disappearing Contacts (???) I assume you have a button at the right-hand end of the toolbar called 'Sign in'. Click that and put in your details. -- Noel "mark4man" <mw.forman@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:OvHcQmStJHA.1492@xxxxxx Quote: > Noel... > > thanks much...I just now signed up w/ 'live.com'. how do I now > link 'Live Mail' w/ that account?
