Contacts missing also

This seems to be a serious problem in the new "Essentials" build.

I also show no contacts in WL Mail & Messenger after updating.

I'm very disappointed especially after I was amazed at how well the previous version of
Live Mail imported all of my OE accounts, contacts, messages etc. flawlessly.

I'm logged on to my identity in both apps., I only have one identity.

My web interface shows my contacts.

When I export my contacts from the web as .cvs (only choice) and try to import to WL
Mail contacts the progress bar shows but then nothing happens.

I still see "The XXXXXXX@xxxxxx account has no contacts. Add contact of sign in
with the Windows Live ID you use for Messenger and Hotmail to see those contact."

That account DOES have contacts but both apps. can't see them.

I click "Change sign in ID" and sign in again, it signs in but still no contacts.

I followed Winston's delete the contents of the Contact folder advise, no go. I then
deleted the contents in C:\Documents and Settings\*log on name*\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\Contacts\XXXXXXX@xxxxxx
folder (Real & Shadow), no go.

It will import *.WAB files and "Address book from current Windows user" (also *.WAB) but
unfortunately those are way too old from when I was using OE.

As a side note, I agree with some other posters concerning the GUI, not an improvement
to me either.

Thanks;
MJ

An additional clue may be that since the updating my name nor email address is in the
"To" column for any mail I receive, it's just blank.

Also, I'm running XP Pro SP-3.

Re: Contacts missing also

Fyi....not a solution but posted to ensure common understanding.

- the above is the location from Version 12, it is not the location for version 14.

WLM, unlike OE, does not have multiple identities.
