    stationery in WLM

    Hi everybody,

I just updated to WLM 9 Build 14.0.8064.0206 and I have a minor problem now
with re-using the same simple stationery for my daily mails to our children.
I am writing my mails in Word 2003 and copy them over into a new mail then.
To keep the font and formats I created a stationery with my favourite font,
margins and text-align and am using it daily. With the former WLM I could
just click on stationery and the last ones I used were available. With this
new version I have only "more stationery" and "no stationery" to choose
from, so have to go into my stationery folder each time to find the one I
want to use. Not a big job but I wonder if the fact that I am not using the
given folder as stationery folder might be the problem or if it is just a
feature that the former used stationeries are not listed?

    have a nice day
    Heidi

The only feature that you gain by using Word is auto-save.
Copy some stationery to the WLM stationery folder and see if they appear on
    the stationery list.

    Re: stationery in WLM

Thanks for the idea, Ron! should have thought of this myself - but
unfortunately it is no help right now as it seems the place where my last
Version of Windows Live Mail stored stationery has vanished now after the
Update and it always is my own My Stationery folder that comes up. Very nice
it is so now, as it means when I want to create new stationery I don't have
to wander to my stationery folder first. Though for to be able to try out if
using the WLM stationery folder does make them appear in the list, can you
or someone else please tell me where I could find the default stationery
folder with the Microsoft-stationery in it!?

And by the way, what I gain by writing in Word (besides Auto-Save which I
don't mind either), is Auto-Correct my lots of typos while typing. It sounds
sometimes as if Windows Live Mail should do this as well, but I can't see it
does. It does correct all the same typos with one click when I run
spell-check afterwards but since it does look horrible quite often what I
produce as typos all the time I hate having to read through that while
composing my mails, so since by now I have more or less all my usual typos
set up as auto-correct they just vanish as soon as I type them in Word!

This can be a mixed blessing. :>( If you hesitate just a bit in typing "it
will", WLMail just might "correct" it to "I twill".

There are a few other boxes on that page; you may or may not want to check
    some of them.

    Re: stationery in WLM

In Vista, WM, has its own stationary folder(and its default)
    C:\Users\<windows logon id>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Stationery.

Thus there are three total on Vista.

I've can't recall using stationary, nor have I ever looked in the Stationery folder, but on first use in WLM14, this is the folder
    that shows up
    C:\Users\<windows logon id>\Documents\My Stationery

Comparing, the only difference in the My Stationary folder(at least on this Vista pc) vs C:\Program Files\Windows
Live\Mail\Stationery is the presence of two additional html files in the former(Mosiac1.htm and Mosiac2.htm) - note the misspelling
of the word Mosaic. I have no clue why, whatsoever.

    Re: stationery in WLM

Sorry Ron, but I have never so far seen WLM autocorrect my typing, not the
old version and not this new one. Might have the usual try to take out the
option and put it back after re-start of WLM...

no luck, still correction only possible later and nothing is happening while
I am typing (tried in English USA as well as in English UK and German).

The folder where on my Vista system the original Microsoft stationery is
saved actually is C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Mail\Stationery (which is
not found via searching for stationery), so I have tried and placed a
stationery there and will see now if that does a change...

no change and neither does it help when I put the files into the folder
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Stationery which I found now
    as well including MS-stationery files.

So it seems I will have to cope with this as it is.
    thanks for trying to help.
    Heidi
