| | change email add. in WLM We have POP3 WLM. (Win. XP, SP3 IE6) Lately we have a tremendous amount of unsolicited mail. My husband uses a lot of Health sites and most of the mail seems to be about medications. I've been told the only way to fix the problem is to change your email address. We have had our current address about 8 years. Would it change our account fees to change adddress? How do I go about changing the address? I would need step by step instructions. Thanks for your service. -- Twinkie |

| | Re: change email add. in WLM You need to give us some basic information. What is the part of your email address after the @ symbol? That will tell us who the mail provider is. Rules for obtaining a new email address are set by the provider, assuming you want to stay with the same provider. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Twinkie" <Twinkie@xxxxxx> wrote in message news 6D5FDFD-4FD6-42D6-9901-74DFA066CC77@xxxxxxQuote: > We have POP3 WLM. | | Re: change email add. in WLM Your reference to "account fees" is a bit vague. A new free MSN.com/Hotmail.com/Live.com email address can be obtained by following these instructions: http://ask-leo.com/how_do_i_make_a_n...l_account.html If you have a paid (premium) MSN account, better check with the experts here: http://www.microsoft.com/communities...msn.discussion -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Twinkie" <Twinkie@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:A6CB0018-8144-4400-9885-281D6E6D29C8@xxxxxx Quote: > Thanks Gary, > Our email in @msn.com > > -- > Twinkie > > > "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: > Quote: >> You need to give us some basic information. | | Re: change email add. in WLM You can not change an email address for an existing msn.com subscription account. A new account(and with the same subscription base) is necessary for a new email address.(note...it would be wise to not create a new account with a name similar to the last). Once a new address is acquired cancel the old. Note: If you account is a Hotmail Plus, it does provide prorated refunds. The subscription is auto-renewable and cancellable 30 days prior to the start of the next annual billing cycle. Cancelling a subscription of a Hotmail Plus account revert the account to a free account with messages intact. Free accounts can now be accessed via pop3 in OE, WLM, Windows Mail, Outlook, etc... More importantly, are the messages that you wish to retain backed up. -- ...winston ms-mvp mail "Twinkie" <Twinkie@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:A6CB0018-8144-4400-9885-281D6E6D29C8@xxxxxx Quote: > Thanks Gary, > Our email in @msn.com Quote: > Quote: >> You need to give us some basic information.
