| | How can I query LDAP in WLM? Hi, I'm using WLM to access our Exchange. Both 'send' and 'recieve' are OK.But I cannot query Directory service. In OE, there is an Active Direcotry account I can use to query people. How can I setup this in WLM? btw, I setup a Contact Directory account use our Exchange server address, but it always said: The specified directory service could not be reached. The service may be temporarily unavailable or the server name may be incorrect. Does any expert have experience about that? Thanks! MG |

| | Re: How can I query LDAP in WLM? I don't know anything about using Exchange as an LDAP server, but I do know Windows Live Mail works with regular LDAP servers. I have Windows Live Mail configured on my test box to connect to an LDAP server, and it still works. Are you on XP or Vista? Can you try OE or Windows Mail with your Exchange server? Do you need to authenticate against your Exchange server with a user name and password? Is Exchange setup for using the standard LDAP port (389)? How are you attempting to access your server through Windows Live Mail? Are you resolving names in the address wells using the server when you hit send? Are you using the "Find People" dialog box through Contacts? Thanks for using Windows Live Mail! David [MSFT] Quote: > Hi, > I'm using WLM to access our Exchange. | | Re: How can I query LDAP in WLM? I'm using Windows7 Beta and can access our Exchange server with WLM.Incoming server use IMAP. When I access Exchange, I use domain\username to authenticate. The only problem is name resolving. In OE, there is an directory service account named 'LDAP' by default, I can use it to resolve name (Ctrl+K). I've checked it's properties, but everything is 'NULL'. So I don't know how to do the name resolving. Another question, when I input name in sendto box and press Ctrl+K in OE, Domain Controller is the responser, not Exchange server, am I right? Thanks!
