Re: New email message shortcut (Control_N) doesn't work when in Newsgroups.

It is because you entered Ctrl + N ALONE, without going through File, New
etc.
If you go (as you mentioned ) File > New > then click E-maul Message, you'll
have what you want.

Re: New email message shortcut (Control_N) doesn't work when in Newsgroups.

Will,
Works that way for me too, seems like a bug to me! Also, the Help index search for "keyboard shortcuts" misdirects to an e-mail question and Google search is no help either! The other keyboard options under File seem to work correctly.

Ctrl-N just opened an email message composition for me... while in the
newsgroups.

New email message shortcut (Control_N) doesn't work when in Newsgroups.

So I'm on the Newsgroup area of WLM and want to send an email without
leaving the newsgroup area. File, New, Email Message indicates the keyboard
shortcut to be Control_N. Yet that produces a new newsgroup message. Did I
set something up wrong? Are others find this to be common? When I'm in the
Email area it works perfectly.

Not me either. While staying in newsgroup, Ctrl + N opens up a new message
window for newsgroup only.

Outlook Express does the same as you are seeing in WLM. I can't test this in
WLM, but what if you open a new message window and then File | Save As and
save it to the Desktop. You can drag the resulting icon onto the Taskbar and
when you want to create a new message, just click on that. I do that with
OE. Maybe it will work in WLM.
