Vista - Access to WLM

Access to WLM

After migrating from the webDAV-->pop3 for MSOEv.6 everything seemed ok. I
deleted the old account [http] for the webDAV system. When I went to WLM
using MSIEv.6, the website was crippled at the very least. I have "safe
sender list" enacted, so I need to view the junk/bulk mail folder for any
important emails that are not yet on the list. The functions on windows.live
are just not working even with the security zone set to low; which is bad
and I don't want since running in ESC mode in browser.

Re: Access to WLM

Are you talking about Windows Live Hotmail?
That has nothing to do with this Windows Live Mail newsgroup.

Re: Access to WLM

Yes,
Hotmail Live is apparently dead from my point of interaction.
It is not clear what is going on in Microsoft concerning the Hotmail Live
website or Windows Live Mail [WLM]. One thing is clear though, the
navigation links are not working in MSIE v.6 even in the lowest secure trust
zone.

Re: Access to WLM

I just went back into the website with the Internet zone on default and all
seems to work now. When in the Extended Security Configuration ESC for MSIE
browser and Hotmail Live or WLM...which ever it is called with security zone
in Trusted https checked the website does not function. Did you all know
this?

Re: Access to WLM

Are you clear that WLM is a desktop email installed client and Windows Live Hotmail(WLH) is the web interface one accesses by a
browser(e.g. Internet Explorer).

You cannot go to WLM using IE6(see above). WLM opens independently of IE.

WLM and WLH do not have a configuration setting for Trusted sites, that configuration is found in your browser's properties.

Hotmail.com, msn.com, nor live.com are not required, nor suggested to be added to the Trusted sites.
They should be added to the Privacy Tab/Sites/Manage Sites and each set to Allow

Re: Access to WLM

Thank-you;
The acronym WLM is confusing since here it is mail and in other instances it
is messenger. I was referring to WLH, the new Hotmail system when accessing
with MSIE v.6 in ESC mode. I often will place these websites in the Trusted
zone and use https check for banking etc. So it is dogged there. I was
allowing cookies at this website.
Navigating the WLH website in this ESC mode and with the website placed in
the Trusted zone the links do not function.

In ESC mode and Internet zone with Privacy Allow on first party cookies it
is working.

Jim,
Glad to hear it

Fyi..while other might approach it differently, I always refer to mail as WLM and messenger as WLMsgr.

Re: Access to WLM

I am sorry, that was not correct.

Internet zone in default setting the website works...rat-a-tat-tat...

ESC mode it does not, even if you use Trusted at the "medium" level, id est
"default" level irregardless of the https verification. This makes WLH
difficult for those of us operating in that mode.

Re: Access to WLM

PS. It also needs javascripting which is not enabled in the ESC mode.
Lastly, as you navigate betwixt folders or links it freezes when in that
security mode. If I assign windows live to the Trusted zone at the set
"medium" level (like internet default) it still freezes up. Why?
