Hide folder, etc column

Good People,
When I view RSS feeds I see three columns. While reading the msgs in a
feed, I only want to see the actual msgs and be able to sequence thru the
msgs I haven't read.

How?
thanks,
Karl

What's the problem? Pressing Ctrl-u (or using the Next Unread toolbar button)
does that for me. (Same as any message list display in WLMail.)

Re: Hide folder, etc column

Robert,

RSS feeds display shows 3 columns. I want 1 column, the one with the actual
msgs. I do not want to see the other two columns when viewing rss msgs.

Using Ctrl + U will take you to the next unread msg. I desire to go to the
next msg, regardless of read or unread.

Thanks,
karl

Re: Hide folder, etc column

1. Right-click on one of the column headings, select "Columns..."
Uncheck the ones you don't want to see.

2. I just use the down arrow to go to the next message in a Unread feeds
QuickView.

Re: Hide folder, etc column

dave,

Somehow we are not talking about the same thing.
1. I'm using Window Live Mail
2. I'm viewing RSS feeds.
3. I have three columns-a) shows the RSS feeds by name (and also such things
as Mail, Newsgroups,Contacts);
b) a msg title column
c) the msg corresponding to the currently selected msg.

Please note: the RSS display is NOT identical to the Newsgroup display

When viewing RSS feeds, I would like to:
Step 1: Select the feed
Step 2: Hide everything except for the "msg column"
Step 3: walk thru the msgs. Here I've found that Ctrl + > will select the
next msg

Thanks,
Karl

You seem to be describing the Panes.
You can make minor changes to the layout...

Re: Hide folder, etc column

You'll have to open the RSS feed item in a separate Window. Double click the respective feed item in the center pane.

The 3 paned approach for Feed Shortcuts Folder Pane, Feed items list(Message Pane), and Detail(Preview Pane) can be configured on
View/Layout. The only available 'pane' options to the default 3 paned approach are to disable the Preview Pane and Condense the
folder pane to shortcuts.

Re: Hide folder, etc column

Winston.
Many thanks.

The disable and condense approach I had used and was dissatisfied with such.

However,
the solution, for me, is the dbl-clk coupled with Ctrl + > and Ctrl + < to
move to next/previous.

Thanks,
karl (running Win7 RC on Asus 1002 HA netbook)

Re: Hide folder, etc column

You're welcome Karl,
Thanks for the feedback.

Glad you found an acceptable solution for the Feeds.

And agreed, I also, don't care for the condense, disable of the Folder and Preview panes
