| vista home premium | 0x800ccc0f error message Hope you can help ... I have been using windows email for over a year and a few days ago I got this error message using my windows mail .. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', Server: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F I started reading the posts and deleted my AVG Free Antivirus, replaced it with windows defender and spyware doctor without the antivirus engine that I have been using for over a year. I downloaded windows live mail as I have read ... and in windows live mail I still got the same error message. So I am still at square one trying to find out how to fix this error message. I'm looking forward to your reply. |

| Vista Business 32bit | Re: 0x800ccc0f error message I am back to having the same exact problem. This time, It is NOT due to ATT changing the address of the SMTP gateways. If someone finds the cause and the fix for this? Please let me know.!!!! |

| Vista Business 32bit | Re: 0x800ccc0f error message Hey Mikey, Try this (it worked for me): Deleting the secure key worked perfectly. ![]() In Windows Live Mail: 1. Click on Tools 2. Click on Safety Options 3. Click on Security 4. Click on Digital IDs 5. Under the Personal tab you will see a digital id. Highlight it and click the Remove button. 6. Start up Windows Live Mail and start sending....at least this is what fixed it for me as well. |

Where are you guys getting this certificate? I don't have one in my copy of Windows Live Mail. Also, I did have an expired trial certificate from Thawte in Thunderbird which caused a similar error in T-Bird. You folks do know that these certs expire, don't you? -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |

| Vista Business 32bit | Re: 0x800ccc0f error message Norman, I have NO CLUE where these are coming from. I've never gotten a digital id and I don't plan on getting one. Just go along and one day? Poof.! You got one and it doesn't work any longer. How it got there? That's the question that begs to be answered. |

| | Re: 0x800ccc0f error message Hi, Norman. Hey, I have a certificate there, too! Like Sawdustar, I have no idea where it came from. It says "RC" created it on 12/2/2008 and it will expire 11/8/2108. (Plenty of time, right?) I don't recall that anything special happened on 12/2/08 and I sure don't recall creating a certificate on that date or any other. I started running the Win7 pre-beta on 10/28/08, then installed the beta in January 09 (1/10/09?) and the RC on 4/30/09. I've never used anything from Thawte or other certificate suppliers (except for a few limited experiments several years ago). I did get an error message on MSN.com email this morning, but a simple retry fixed it so I didn't note the error, but I think it was 0x800ccc0f. Unless I learn something that stops me, I probably will Remove the certificate later today. RC -- R. C. | | RE: 0x800ccc0f error message Same problem here. I'm using ATT.net. Got the hint from elsewhere to go uncheck the SSL box for both outgoing and incoming, even thought ATT says they must be checked. Now I can send and receive again.
