Birthdays won't appear

Hi

I'm using Windows Live Mail, version 2009 and Windows XP Professional.

I've added some Birthdays to some of my Windows Live Mail contacts.

However i cannot get them to appear in the Calendar. The Birthday Calendar
checkbox is ticked and i have tried to Synch All using Ctrl+f5 and i've tried
closing Windows Live Mail and opening again all to no avail. Probably
something obvious i've forgotten but i cannot see it.

thanks

Re: Birthdays won't appear

There's nothing to do but wait for the calendar to synch with the server.
It sometimes takes a day for it to show up.

Re: Birthdays won't appear

Really? That surprises me. I can go and get mail immediately from a remote
destination by hitting F5 to sync but it won't put some information that i
already locally have into a calendar.

Thanks for the prompt answer though. I await my calendar sync.

Re: Birthdays won't appear

Birth dates in the Birthday Calendar are pulled from the contacts Live ID profile.

If you open the Calendar in WLM and right click on Birthday, you should see that entry of a new event is grayed out.

I.e. One can manually enter a contact's birth date in a contact, but that does not transmit data to the Birthday calendar. In
fact...if the contact is a Live ID, the local entry will be overridden by the data in the Live ID's profile..
e.g. one can add an entry in the contact for a Live ID, but if they are not sharing the birth date, the next contact sync will null
your local entry.

Where this gets even more confusing...if the contact was sharing the birth date and that contact is deleted from contact list...the
shared birth date may remain on your calendar!
