WLM and Windows 7

Hi

can someone tell me - or even better supply a screen shot - if WLM looks any
better in Windows 7? Particularly legibility of fonts and colours.

thanks

Re: WLM and Windows 7

Hi, AF.

Since Windows Live Mail is a separately-installed application, and not an
integral part of any operating system, its appearance in Win7 RC is
identical to what I see in Vista. Some parts of the GUI do depend on
settings in Internet Explorer, just as they did in Outlook Express and
Windows Mail. And many appearance features are set in Display Options and
Personalization and other overall settings for the operating system. But
they also depend on hardware (graphics boards, monitors, etc.) and on user
preferences, so it's impossible to give a generic, fits-all answer.
Possible variations are endless.

Generally speaking, though, to me on my only computer, WLM looks exactly the
same in Win7 as in Vista.

For me, comparing with XPsp3, I'm surprised how many differences
there are. E.g. highlighting of selected messages in Message list
inconsistent rendering of Flag and Watched icons, in particular;
though those might have something to do with the fact that my
video card is not supported properly by W7. ; )

Re: WLM and Windows 7

I'm also running Vista and Windows 7 RC on the same laptop,
and Windows Live Mail looks the same on those two OS platforms.

Re: WLM and Windows 7

Yes, WLM works on Win 7. I'm using it now.
Yes, the colors are faint. I don't use XP or Vista anymore, so I don't know
if it looks exactly the same, but it probably does. There's no special
version for Win 7.

Re: WLM and Windows 7

Does that mean you resolved your compaction issue posted about 10 minutes earlier or no problems with 'viewablity/colors' on all
three o/s ?

Re: WLM and Windows 7

Use only Win7 RC (and WLM). Dislike the faint colors. If any one has a
solution, I'd appreciate reading such. Thanks, karl
