| Guest | WLM will not open .email attachments I have to drag the attachment to the desktop, then rename the ext. to .eml. Then it will open in WLM. I tried to associate .email with WLM but .email doesn't show up in the list. I don't have this happening very often. And it only happens with one user. That user or someone before him must be using OE. Why doesn't WLM open them? |

| Guest | Re: WLM will not open .email attachments It's been quite some time since I used OE but iirc *.email was used for exported email messages. Have you tried double clicking on the file and upon seeing the dialog box 'Windows cannot open this file' then choose Select a program from the list, click the option to always use this program and browse to wlmail.exe to associate *.email with the WLM executable ? Even if adding an extension by assigning it to WLM in Vista, any files received with an *.email extension from anyone should be scanned with a capable AV program since the *.email extension was used to distribute a virus or worm. -- ...winston ms-mvp mail "Charlie22" <Charlie22@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:16E37382-5D28-4680-AE76-E7CB90FE9AD6@xxxxxx Quote: > I have to drag the attachment to the desktop, then rename the ext. to .eml. > Then it will open in WLM. | Guest | Re: WLM will not open .email attachments The extension .email is no longer used. If, however, you wish to set your email program to open them, then export this registry key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.eml Open it with Notepad then search and replace all ".eml" to ".email". Save and exit. Merge it into the registry. This will add the extension ".email" and make it behave exactly as ".eml" does. (.eml will not be changed or deleted) ju.c "Charlie22" <Charlie22@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:16E37382-5D28-4680-AE76-E7CB90FE9AD6@xxxxxx Quote: > I have to drag the attachment to the desktop, then rename the ext. to .eml. > Then it will open in WLM.
