Vista - WLM will not save password

Windows live mail will not save the password, so when starting your computer
and when you open up the window live mail program, it always asks for
password as it does not save it even though the box is checked to do so.
What is wrong? This is a recent thing that just started a few days back. I
hessitate to uninstall it and reinstall due to the fact it may well loose all
my files and information and I do not wish to have that happen.

Curious, I didn't think Windows Live Mail had a password nor login
mechanism. Do you possibly mean Windows Live, which using the 'sign in'
icon at the far right of the tool bar. This has absolutely no effect on
the Windows Live Mail client!
